// Krenice (Yiddish - in Polish transcription)
Dort, wu grozn zajnen naser,

Fun di stepes wintlech blozn

Wert lewone blas un blaser,

dort, wu grozn zajnen naser,

// Studnia
Tam, gdzie trawy są wilgotne,
stoi studnia zamyślona.
Co noc dziewczęta po wodę
idą z wiadrami w ramionach.
W słońcu jako śniegi jasnym
rosną w sadzie nowe dni.
I w dalekim blasku gwiazdy
tańczą chłopcy wyborowi.
A ze stepów wieją wiatry
już dogasa ognik mały.
Idą dziewczęta po trawach,
niosąc wiadra pełne wody.
Księżyc blednie coraz bardziej,
gdzieś tam bębni ktoś śród gwiazd.
Tam, gdzie trawy są wilgotne,
stoi studnia zamyślona.
// The Well
Where the grass is wet with moisture,
stands an well, all lost in thought.
Young girls carry pails of water
on their shoulders every night.
New days ripen in the orchard,
white as snow-bears, in the sun,
while the youth dance in a circle
in the light of distant stars.
Breezes blowing from the steppes
cannot fuel the dying fire.
Young girls walk among the grasses,
pails of water in their arms.
While the moon is growing paler,
Someone drums into the night.
Where the grass is wet with moisture,
Stands a well, all lost in thought.

One of my favourite musical discoveries in a while. These musicians are seriously talented. I can’t help imagining that there would have been a whole significant subculture of Yiddish psych rock like this in a different, kinder universe. For now, this is a window into that world that might have been. And I love every second of it. Audrey
Raw black metal that brooks no compromises, this has all the ferocious guitars, lo-fi aesthetics and infernal howling you crave. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 30, 2023

i love a hedonism-monologue from the secondary antagonist of purim because i'm not above admitting akhashverosh's parties were probably pretty fun for him and his buds. s'a mekhaye tsu lebn af der erd, it's a delight to live on the earth! or at least we should make it be. absolutelynotjosh
